  • Matt Homes - Founder & Head Coach

    Matt primarily has a photographic background having worked for the sports photo agency Allsport Photographic from 1984 as a Picture Editor and Library Manager. After various roles within Sales at Getty Images Matt is currently developing and growing the In-Touch Cricket Academy as an ECB Level 3 coach. In addition Matt is a specialist cricket coach at Epsom College and Director of Cricket for Surrey Championship Premier side Ashtead CC. Matt has played club cricket for Mitcham, Ashford, Reigate Priory, Ashtead.

  • Aqib Sindhu – Senior Academy Coach

    Aqib has played almost all his club cricket for Spencer joining as a 14 year old and is still turning his arm over for Spencer CC 2nd XI. Over the years he has played with and against some of Surrey’s upcoming prospects, Rory Burns, Arun Harinath and George Edwards to name a few. ECB Level 2 coaching qualifications were gained in 2009 and since then Aqib has been involved in coaching for Spencer CC as well as Outer District u10s and U13s. Aqib is involved in the u10 and u13 In-Touch performance programmes and regularly running the Friday night drop in sessions.

  • Henry Thorpe - Senior Academy Coach

    Henry has a fresh and dynamic outlook on the game epitomises that of the modern era and for someone so young, has a wealth of experience on his side having been coaching for 6 years as an ECB Level 2 coach. Henry has spent his early days as a coach working alongside Keith Medlycott and Matt Homes and has since worked as Head Coach of Maori Oxshott Cricket Club. Henry is currently undertaking a Business Management degree (BA) at the University of Manchester. Additionally he is currently Head Academy Coach at Ashtead Cricket Club as well as Head of Girls Cricket taking up this role as of January 2017. He is also a regular coach at In-Touch Cricket Academy and is a graduate of the Academy when it first started in 2008.

  • Damian Shirazi - Specialist 121 for Girls Cricket

    Damian is the current Director of Cricket at Epsom College and very experienced Level 3 coach working with players at all levels from elite to early development. His playing career as a left handed opening batsman who bowls right-arm medium pace saw him represent England at U14, U15, and U19 levels. He also played for Hampshire CCC at all levels and 2 years with the MCC Young Cricketers as well as representing the British Universities Sports Association against the touring New Zealand and Sri Lankan teams. He continues to play at a good level representing Ashtead CC in the Surrey Premier division. He comes highly recommended in a 121 coaching environment with a specific focus on girls cricket.

  • Gareth Davies - Strength & Conditioning Coach / Elite programme

    Gareth graduated from Southbank University with a BSc (Hons) in Sports and Exercise Science in 2001. During his studies he worked as a fitness consultant for YMCA and Holmes Place Health Clubs. Upon graduation Gareth went to work in the USA as Director of Soccer Camps for Challenger Sports having responsibility for the running of camps across nine states of America. Upon his return Gareth worked at David Lloyd Health and Fitness Club as an Advanced Level 3 Personal Trainer and began to specialize in the area of sport specific strength and conditioning working with several semi professional football clubs as well as many professional players on a one to one basis. In 2005 Gareth went to work as a sport scientist for Charlton Athletic football club working with mainly U16 players many of which are playing Premier League today. In 2008 Gareth began working for Chelsea Football Club with responsibility for strength and conditioning for ladies academy, reserves and 1st teams. Gareth is highly qualified with UKSCA Accreditation / FA Fitness Trainers Award / Register of Exercise Professionals Adv L3.

  • Tom Homes - Senior Coach

    Tom is currently a Level 2 coach working for In-Touch Cricket and Ashtead Cricket Club. Tom has a great understanding working with younger players having come through the Surrey County age teams from u9 to u17s and was an Academy player for 2 years. He is a left arm spinner and plays for Ashtead CC 1st XI and represented Surrey 2nds throughout the 2017 season. Combining his progression as a cricketer Tom is working as a coach and also studying a Level 2 & 3 diploma in Fitness in the off season.

  • Graham Foster - Assistant Coach

    The elder statesman of the In-Touch Coaching team Graham comes from career as an Administrator and Sales Rep, within the building industry. Graham’s early experiences of cricket were to visit to the Oval to watch the likes of Surrey greats Surridge, May, Lock & Laker etc. An allrounder in a playing capacity Graham played for the Adventurers wandering side, who’s President was Alf Gover. He is a great believer in upholding the strong traditions and spirit of the game. In recent years Graham’s passion for the game has been re-stimulated through his two grandson’s involvement in the game and has supported the In-Touch Coaching programme ever since where he has also gained the UKCC1 qualification. The Academy currently utilises Graham’s vast experiences in life and cricket to help nurture young cricketers.

  • Sophie Pout - Girls Coach

    Sophie graduated both in a BSc (Hons) and MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology. Sophie is an experienced Level 2 coach who has worked within the County Age Group girls’ performance section at Surrey County Cricket Club, as well as working on numerous Pride of Lions courses. Her playing career was as a right handed opening batsman for Surrey Ladies 1st XI and at Reigate Priory Cricket Club. In addition to coaching, Sophie currently is undertaking her PGCE at a college in Reigate. She has completed a wide range of group coaching, as well as 121 coaching environment, spreading through from Surrey County Cricket Club down to the grassroots level.

  • Stephen Pope - Specialist Keeping & Batting Coach

    Stephen represented England Schoolboys at both cricket and rugby as wicket keeper and scrum half
    Having signed for Gloucestershire CC aged 16 he was identified as a potential successor for Jack Russell who he eventually trained and played with in the same team. Popey was right-handed batsman and a wicket-keeper who played List A cricket, Twenty20 cricket and 5 first-class matches for the county in 2003, who gained promotion that year to Division 1. Popey also played for England at the 2002 ICC Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand and youth Test Match series against West Indies and India. Since retiring from cricket he has qualified as a PE teacher/coach and recently taken a role as the Girls Cricket coach at Surbiton High School. Stephen is a Level 3 coach who specialises in both batting and wicketkeeping coaching.

  • Mark Sibley - Senior Coach

    Mark is a recently qualified Level 2 coach with a wealth of experience in the game. He represented Surrey Young Cricketers at u19 as an off spinning batter and played club cricket for Ashtead CC for many years where he is still involved at a coaching level. Until recently Mark had 30 years of experience as a sales executive in negotiating and distributing sports media rights. Mark has stayed close to the game having been part of his son Dominic Sibley (Warwickshire CCC professional) progression from junior cricketer to established 1st Class Cricketer.
